My Journey to UX

Stack of philosophy books

Philosophy and Teaching

For years, I taught philosophy and literature, guiding my students to unlock the power of "why." This honed my communication skills and taught me the importance of student feedback—both what's said and what's left unsaid. My teaching evaluations reflected this.

Management and Systems

Next, I moved south to manage a poultry farm with no prior experience. Necessity became my greatest teacher: I learned about animal husbandry, nutrition, and disease prevention. I implemented automation and a rigorous system for tracking progress and key events. I learned that the core of any challenge is to understand needs and create adaptive solutions.

The Pivot to UX

As a boxing coach, I needed a website but ended up designing an app: "My Progress," for my club members and me. I researched, prototyped, and validated. It was then I understood that design is the art of translating human problems into intuitive solutions.

Designing Experiences

The years taught me to adapt, to create with the resources at hand. Today, I apply this foundation of knowledge—while constantly seeking new skills—to build simple solutions for everyday problems.

I don't just design. I solve problems.
With the logic of a manager and the empathy of a teacher.
Let's talk about your next project.
